Ingredients

  • stale or day-old Croissants, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ripe Blueberries
  • Cream Cheese, room temperature
  • large Eggs
  • Milk, whole or plant-based alternative
  • Vanilla Extract, pure
  • Maple Syrup
  • Cinnamon, ground

Instructions

  1. Croissants in bite-sized Stücke schneiden und gleichmäßig in eine gefettete 9×13 Zoll große Backform legen.
  6. Die restlichen Blaubeeren über den Auflauf streuen.

Notes

Storage: Store any leftover Blueberry Cream Cheese Croissant Casserole in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, consider freezing individual portions wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and then placed in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months.

Reheating: To reheat, place the casserole in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes, or until warmed through. If reheating from frozen, allow it to thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating for best results.

Serving: Serve the casserole warm, garnished with a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of maple syrup for added sweetness. It pairs well with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert.

Chef’s Tip: For an extra burst of flavor, try adding a sprinkle of lemon zest to the cream cheese mixture or incorporating some chopped nuts, like pecans or walnuts, for added texture. Using stale croissants is key, as they absorb the custard mixture better and provide a perfect balance of soft and crunchy textures.
